CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
The COVID-19 pandemic has made this a very difficult time for all of us. We are dealing with a shortage of many commonly used items, in many cases an inability to work, and most importantly anxiety regarding our health and those of our loved ones. The best thing that we can do to combat the spread of the virus is to cover our mouths when we sneeze or cough, wear a mask, wash and sanitize our hands often, use disinfectant as needed, and maintain a social and physical distancing of at least 6 feet.
Shoham Medical Group has stayed open to serve your medical needs but we need your help in order for all of us to stay safe. Please follow the following guidelines:
Anyone with symptoms suggestive of Covid should schedule a telehealth visit in lieu of a visit in the office. If respiratory symptoms are severe, an emergency room visit is preferable.
When visiting the office, we ask that you limit the number of people to the patient that is being seen and the parents. If it is necessary that others accompany you, they should wait in the car.
We will be checking the temperature of everyone in the waiting room. Anyone with fever who is not being seen as a patient will be asked to leave the office. Remember that a fever is considered a temperature of 100.4°F or above.
The staff that is in contact with patients will be wearing masks and in some cases gloves and gowns. In addition we are disinfecting exam rooms between patients with bleach.
Through all of our efforts we will get through these trying times with our health intact. If we limit our interactions, the virus will have a more difficult time spreading, and with the help of the vaccine the pandemic will soon be over.
My best to you and your loved ones,
